One of the largest components of a bell, the slide is also one of the most sought-after parts to upgrade and customize. We've collected 5 of our favorite aftermarket bell slides to share with you today.
Brownells, a company known for its massive pistol parts catalog, has now entered the Glock slide market. They make simple and affordable custom slides for 3rd and 4th generation rifles. These slides are perfect for a budget Glock built on a Poly 80 lower receiver, or for those who don't want a Gucci Glock slide.
These are basic, well-made slides that are designed for service use and concealed carry. Brownell slides come without slide parts, so you will need to purchase them separately. Brownell's Glock slides are RMR cut and optically ready. They provide front and rear slide serrations and are machined with many finish options. This includes black nitride, bronze and FDE.
Brownells RMR Cut Slides have smooth edges for comfort when worn close to the body. These are well made, simple slides that are a noticeable upgrade from the OEM slides. Slides come with or without cuts for ease of sliding. Without the flashing cat, you have a weapon that is better designed for concealed carry. With light cuts you can use an adjustable barrel and have a great competition weapon. Your options are wide with Brownells Glock slides and best of all they are all affordable.

Most Glock slides on the market are focused on 9mm models, but the 40 S&W version is covered by Rock Slide USA. The Glock 22 is especially trusted by law enforcement officers and home guards across the country. The 40 S&W is a powerful cartridge, and the Glock 22 is a reliable and rugged pistol. Rock Slides makes two models of slides for the Glock 22, the RS1 and RS2. The RS1 is simpler and offers beveled sliders for a lighter and more hidden slide that snags less when pulling. The RS2 features aggressive vent slots that reduce weight and allow use with a chainring. Both slides have a red dot milling option.

Lone Wolf Distributors may be one of the oldest providers of custom bell parts. Since I've been in guns I've seen Lone Wolf ads and products. What started as a replacement springs and small parts company has grown into a company that makes just about everything. They make several lines of custom bell slides, but the 20 series is my favorite.
First P80 Build, But My Second One Will Be Much Cleaner
The 20 series is their flagship line of slides and is beautifully designed. The stainless steel slides are cut to have a unique angled nose with open windows on the front of the slides. Glocks are known for blacky rifles, but the Series Pattern 20 slides will certainly help with that criticism.
The top and sides of the slide have lighter notches as well as deep, clean serrations to reduce the overall weight of the slide. This not only makes it lightweight, but can also reduce recoil by reducing the weight that travels back and forth during the action of the gun. The slides are brilliant and Lone Wolf has a great reputation for hand craftsmanship when it comes to custom Glock work.
As for the slides, these are some of the most customized on the market and to me they are machine art. They are more suitable for competition or target practice than for work. The AlphaWolf Signature Series is great for those looking to spice up their standard stock bell. The bad news is that you are limited to 9mm watches with this series.
All of the slides we've covered so far are designed for compact and full-sized Glock firearms. Smaller Glock pistols like the pocket-friendly single-stock Glock 43 tend to be ignored by many aftermarket competitors. However, Gray Ghost Precision is different, they have adopted the Glock 43 with their SPG43 slides.

The SPG 43 slide is highly customized but designed for concealed carry. You kind of keep the weight down with stronger serrations and retexturing. These slides are available in V1 and V2 patterns from Gray Ghost Precision. The V1 has traditional serrations that run diagonally on the back and front of the slide. The V2 has a diamond plate pattern and also runs diagonally for better grip.
The slides are also cut for the Shield RMS miniature red dot sight, one of the smallest on the market today. These diamonds are available in diamond-like coatings in a variety of colors including black, gray, bronze and FDE. This gives you a very strong and robust slide designed for concealed carry and combat use.
The SPG-43 Sliders give your Glock 43 a basic upgrade that adds a sleek look and makes it more combat ready.
Gucci Glock is an increasingly popular term used to describe highly customized Glocks. This moniker became popular because companies like Zev produce very high quality slides that look great and work flawlessly. Zev makes a lot of different slides for the Glock series, but the Dragonfly is my favorite. The Dragonfly is one of Zev's earliest designs and is still one of their most popular slides.

The Zev Dragonfly features a number of bright cutouts on the side of the slide to reduce weight and add a modern touch to your bell. I'm a big fan of asymmetrical designs and the flared cut provides that unique look. The slides are made of stainless steel and then coated with DLC or PVD coating depending on your color choice. The black DLC is my favorite because of its blue-like appearance.
The Dragonfly has also been cut for optics to accept the Trijicon RMR. The Dragonfly slide is designed to provide tighter tolerances, which will ensure greater accuracy and precision in your Glock pistol. Zev was one of the first companies to create highly customized bell slides and to this day makes some of the best on the market.
Gaston Glock probably never expected how his famous Glock pistol would change and grow so strongly in the civilian aftermarket niche. A bell pistol can be drastically modified into anything you want. Upgrading the Glock slide gives it a significant improvement and should be done based on how you intend to use it. A concealed carry gun is different from a competition gun, so be realistic about your needs and wants.
